The Parkway Concert Orchestra wishes to extend a special thanks to our sponsors for this concert.
The St. Theresa School PTA will present the Parkway Concert Orchestra in an exciting fall concert on Sunday, November 4 at 3p.m. in Monsignor Donahue Hall, St. Theresa School, 30 St. Theresa Avenue, West Roxbury. Music Director and Conductor Peter Freisinger conducts the 50 piece non-profit orchestra in classical and pops selections for the entire family, including excerpts from Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade and Beethoven's 5th Symphony. The St. Theresa Choirs, directed by Dr. Richard Bunbury, will join the orchestra in selections from "Messiah" and "Guys & Dolls". After the concert, the audience will be able to meet and learn about the instruments at an instrument petting zoo.
This concert is presented for the public by St. Theresa School PTA and is sponsored by P.E. Murray-George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home. The Cooperative Bank is the Principal Sponsor of the Parkway Concert Orchestra. Ticket donations are requested: $7; $5 for seniors and children. Light refreshments and free parking are provided. Baritone Ishan Johnson received his education at the Boston University College of Fine Arts where he studied with James Demler. He was a featured artist this past summer with the Utah Festival Opera Company. His performances there included roles in Porgy and Bess, The Most Happy Fella, and Showboat. He most recently performed the role of Betto in the B.U. Opera Institute's production of Gianni Schicchi. Other roles include Sciarrone in Tosca, Jabez in Regina, and Dashwood in Little Women. He was featured in the Opera Boston productions of Bizet's The Pearl Fishers, Chabrier's L'etoile and Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia. He will be a featured soloist in Bach's Christmas Oratorio with the historic Old North Church in Boston.
