Parkway Concert Orchestra presents Stories and Legends on May 18 in Norwood

Parkway Concert Orchestra finishes its 2013-14 season with a 'Stories and Legends' concert on Sunday, May 18 at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 100 Winter Street, Norwood. Music Director Geneviève Leclair conducts the 50 piece non-profit orchestra in the Romeo and Juliet Fantasy-Overture, Mother Goose Suite and Cenerentola Overture. The program will feature Kyoko Hida-Battaglia, English horn, in 'The Swan of Tuonela' by Sibelius.

The program is supported in part by a grant from the Norwood Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. Donation is $15; $10 for seniors and students; and free for children under 12 years old. For ticket reservations please call 781-762-0288.

Kyoko Hida-Battaglia, English Horn

English Horn soloist Kyoko Hida-Battaglia portraitKyoko is a regular player on Oboe and English Horn with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony New Hampshire and Lexington Symphony. She has performed with the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops, Boston Ballet, Boston Lyric Opera, New Haven Symphony and Colorado Music Festival. Kyoko has a BM from Tokyo College of Music and Master's degree from the New England Conservatory. She is currently a faculty member at The Boston Conservatory, New England Conservatory Preparatory Division, Rivers School Conservatory, Winchester Community Music School and Manchester Community Music School in NH.
