Bill PorterPrior to assuming the leadership role of Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2002, William Porter had been the President and Manager of the Parkway Concert Orchestra since 1988, when the Orchestra initiated its nonprofit status. He began his musical career as trombonist in the Boston Public Schools and studied with John Coffey of the Boston Symphony. Throughout his musical career he has played in numerous orchestras and Big Bands. He joined the Parkway Orchestra as first trombonist while still in High School and has carried on all the behind–the–scenes activities for maintaining the orchestra since the death of its founder in 1967. Bill also plays with the “Westwood Swing Band” and the “Old Kids on the Block”.
