Photos from performances during the Parkway Concert Orchestra's 72nd Season
The Orchestra welcomed student musicians from the Dedham School of Music at the May 21 concert at St. Susanna's Parish. Thanks to Susan S. and Vicki N. for these photos.
A beautiful spring afternoon, a large and supportive audience, and special guest artist Emil Altschuler, violin, made this performance exceptional. The program was entitles "Spanish Gypsies."
The Parkway Concert Orchestra presented a concert entitled "Mozart and Vangelis" on March 26, 2017 at West Roxbury's Holy Name Parish. The Orchestra was joined by guest artist Cyrus Bernstein, Clarinet, for von Weber's "Concerto for Clarinet No. 2" (the Allegro movement), and by the Holy Name's Children's Choir, Thomas Manguem, Director, for Copland's "Simple Gifts."
Matthew Fritz, Guest Conductor
The Parkway Concert Orchestra opened its 72nd season at First Congregational Church in Norwood, presenting a program entitled "Percussion Fiesta." We were gratified to have a full and enthusiastic intergenerational audience. It was a special thrill to welcome guest artist Daniel Bauch, percussionist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, who performed Milhaud's "Concerto for percussion and small orchestra, Op. 109."
