Conductor & Music Director Opening

The Parkway Concert Orchestra seeks a new Music Director and Conductor, starting over the summer of 2008 for the 2008-2009 season. The 50 piece orchestra performs a classical and pops repertoire in six concerts each year. The orchestra rehearses 7:30 – 9:30 on Monday nights at the First Congregational Church of Norwood, and concerts are performed Sunday afternoons in communities from Walpole to Brookline. The orchestra season runs from early September through late May.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with a community orchestra and enjoy planning and conducting a classical and pops repertoire.
Duties include planning concert programs, conducting sectionals, full rehearsals, and performances, planning personnel needs, and providing direction for the librarians. The salary is approximately $4,000 per year.
