Scenes from performances during the Parkway Concert Orchestra's 77th Season
"Spring Concert" was presented on an exquisite Spring afternoon at St. Ursuline Academy in Dedham. The concert was dedicated to the memory and legacy of Bill and Muriel Porter. The Bill and Muriel Porter Memorial Fund was announced. We were treated to exquisite solo performances by Sarah Rogers, violin (Havanaise) and Jennifer Digiacomo, flute (Pavane). Bill and Muriel's two daughters were present, and spoke movingly of the importance of the Orchestra in their parents' lives.
"Musical Conversations Across Time" The Orchestra filled the grand Holy Name sanctuary with musical selections spanning generations. We were thrilled to include guest artist (and Holy Name Music Director and Organist) William Endicott in this performance. And the "Instrument Petting Zoo" was a big hit during intermission!
"Halloween at the Symphony" featured a fun but challenging program for the orchestra and included a costume parade for kids before the intermission.
A festive Holiday Pops concert for an amazing audience, in a wonderful performance space. And when we left to go home, our cars were dusted with snow!
